Keep a Beautiful Fire Pit Table Every Year with Proper Granite Maintenance
It’s that time of year when we start thinking about the fresh start ahead and all of the good that await us in the new year. This year, let’s resolute to properly care for our home decor and appliances. Start with granite! Proper care keeps your new or old fire pit table looking beautiful for years to come.
Fire Pit Table Granite Care
Granite tabletops should be resealed every 6 months. It takes just a few minutes to distribute an even coat of stone sealer and then wipe down the tabletop. The easiest resolution you could ever stick to!
When cleaning tabletops, use plain water or a PH neutral cleaner. We know many of you love Mr. Clean, but this is just one job he wasn’t meant to tackle.
Seal your tabletop before and after each winter. Sealing helps moisture stay out and the beauty of your granite stay in. If moisture sets in, the granite could crack, and we most certainly don’t want that.
Use a suitable outdoor cover every winter to prevent moisture from penetrating the granite. If you live in a region that receives heavy snowfall, it is possible that snow sitting on a granite tabletop for an extended period of time could allow moisture to enter the sealer. Try using your outdoor cover in a tent shape which would allow air flow to the granite releasing moisture.
